I used to be against teaching religion in school. I used to think that it was necessary to keep church and the state separate. While I do believe that nothing should be JUSTIFIED by religion (ie. same-sex marriage, abortion, etc), I do believe that religion should be taught in schools. It just isn't right for people to have such intolerance toward one another due to religion. Islamophobia should not even exist. We should teach Christianity, Islam, Buddhism and many other major world religions in school. Maybe people would not be so intolerant and hateful towards each other.
